New Senior Sales Manager Appointment for Vine Hotels

Lauren McSorley has been appointed as the new groups and tours sales manager at Vine Hotels as the company accelerates its staff development and expansion plans.

The hotel group, which recently announced several initiatives aimed at cherry-picking forward thinking, ambitious individuals looking to further their career in hotel management, has pledged to invest significantly in its staff and offer clear career paths into senior roles.

Lauren joins the pro-active sales team after being promoted from the hotel manager position at Mercure Southampton Centre Dolphin Hotel, a hotel owned and managed by Vine Hotels. She will be tasked with developing the groups and tours strand of the business and will represent Vine Hotels at key industry events and exhibitions in the coming months, including the World Travel Market and the Coach Tourism Association Conference in November as well as the British Tourism and Travel Show in early spring.

Vine Hotels chief executive, Garin Davies, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lauren to this new role. She will be responsible for developing sales, target setting, building key customer and client relationships, and engaging in business planning.  This new role has a particular focus on tours and group bookings – an increasingly important development area as Vine Hotels has acquired hotels and venues in key regions with a specific tourism focus.

“Lauren brings with her a wealth of experience; she was responsible for managing the Southampton hotel through all covid restrictions and clearly displayed her ability to excel in the role through incredibly tough external factors. Not only this, but she embodies the Vine Hotels ethos and is demonstrating to others that it is possible for those with the right attitude and work ethic to rise through the ranks.”

Talking of her new role Lauren said: “It’s such a brilliant time to be part of this hotel group, which is not only performing particularly well against a tough economic backdrop but is standing by its commitment to push forward those staff who are striving for new challenges.

“I’m excited to be representing Vine Hotels at some key industry events in the coming months, meeting tour operators and agents, and I’m looking forward to really putting my stamp on this new role.”

This new post comes off the back of the recent announcement that Vine Hotels was to take over the management of the Best Western York House Hotel, Eastbourne, after successfully completing a multi-stage, competitive tender process. The property took the number of hotels owned and managed by Vine Hotels to thirteen, following a string of acquisitions, including Bredbury Hall Hotel in Cheshire, The Old Rectory, Handsworth and The Charlecote Pheasant Hotel, Warwick. The company’s burgeoning portfolio now stretches from the Northeast to the South Coast as it continues with an ambitious programme of growth.
